Some news and tid-bits from the course and the final day of practice. Racing will be underway here on Tuesday--and you can get caught up on how to watch and when some of Tuesday's bigger match-ups will take place in yesterday's feature.
No Drone Footage for 2023
One big bit of news is that there will be no drone footage this year, and, well, we think @fatsculler said it best:
Gutted that there will be no drone footage this year ?? https://t.co/NdfQ6aYjrR

The full explanation is laid out in the press release linked therein, but basically the contracted drone operator backed out at the last minute and, as we have covered before, the massive drones used at Henley do require professionally licensed pilots, so replacing them on short notice must have been a no-go.
The good news in that release, at least for race fans in the UK, is that live coverage will be broadcast on BT Sport on Friday and Saturday afternoons, and all day Sunday for the finals.
Pretty Good Guy to Ask
Need some last minute tips on racing the Henley? Can't do much better than Mike Spracklen.
And the Spares Champs are...
Marin!
The juniors from the west coast defeated St Joes in an all PE spares race, complete with chase launch (as the Stewards themselves ran a full practice go down the course.)
Spotted row2k Award
An Ocean Away, but Boatman are the Same
Cranky if you break stuff, vital to have around, and pretty good at croquet:
Could there be a Rigger Croquet World Championship one of these days, between the winner of USA's Wakamole Tourney and the Henley Champ? For the record, Radley's boatman was the victor.
No Coaches??
Passing in Review
Syracuse coach Luke McGee rendering full honors and a salute to Princeton Coach, and former US Army Captain, Matt Smith on shore as he passed by.
Um, Recruiting Faux Pas?
It's okay to have high school rowers rowing a pair named for a college coach, right?
Quick, somebody check the by-laws before the next round.
Army/Navy, UK Style
Stern pair of the UK Armed Forces four--looks like a joint forces exercise.
Got Milk?
Do it Again!
Rumor has it that this photo will be recreated at some point in the next six days:
Stay tuned because, yes, row2k does take some requests...
